Passion for the vine for over 20 years!
After working for several years in the construction industry, Marcelin Turcotte, decides to take up a whole new challenge! That of being a producer-winemaker.
A native of the Île d’Orléans, he decided in 1998 to plant his first vines on family land which dates from the end of the 17th century; this is the start of Vignoble du Mitan.
In the early years of the vineyard, the grape harvests were intended for sale – Marcelin Turcotte sold his fruit to other winegrowers who made the wine. Quickly, his knowledge for viticulture is refined and, his passion leads him to want to create his own wines.
Making good wines is what drives him now!
To make sure he gets it right, he asks for the help of an oenologist who accompanies him in the development of his wines. It was therefore in 2007 that Vignoble du Mitan finally opened its doors to consumers! He offers them three wines: La Barrique, L’Aube and Le Mi-Temps (they are still offered by the vineyard!).
The diversity
Today, more than half of its production is destined for white wines, but it also produces rosés, reds, fortified wines, late harvests and ice wines.
With more than 10,000 vine plants, Marcelin Turcotte continues to improve, develops his plantations and appreciates the variation of his grape varieties.
The goal is to always offer the best to its customers!
