September 12, I Buy a Quebec Wine

For a 13th consecutive year, the Conseil des vins du Québec (CVQ), in partnership with the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ), is inviting Quebecers to make September 12 a true celebration of local wines. A simple, festive, unifying gesture: choose a Quebec wine.

And since September 12 falls on a Saturday this year, it’s the perfect opportunity to visit a vineyard, meet the artisans who shape our terroirs, take part in tastings at participating SAQ locations, or simply raise a glass to Quebec producers over a good meal. A perfect day to discover, taste, and celebrate Quebec’s winemaking creativity.

Whites, reds, rosés, orange or sparkling – Quebec wines have never been so vibrant or diverse. Thanks to the talent and know-how of local winemakers, they offer recognized quality and a range that means there’s a wine for every celebration, every occasion, and every taste.

Made exclusively from grapes grown in Quebec, these wines express the richness of our terroirs, the uniqueness of our climate, and the expertise built up by the roughly 180 producers who have been driving this industry forward for more than 45 years.

Quebec wines are available throughout the province: at SAQ locations, directly at vineyards, in several grocery stores, and in numerous restaurants. September 12 thus becomes an ideal day to explore, make new discoveries, and share your favourites with loved ones.

September 10 to 13: Quebec wines take the spotlight at the SAQ

Consumers will be able to discover Origine Québec wines through numerous in-store tastings, benefit from expert advice in-branch, and take advantage of a festive promotional offer: 1,500 bonus points will be awarded with the purchase of every bottle of Origine Québec wine (750 ml and larger).

Quebec wines represent:

• 180 winemakers holding an artisanal production permit;
• 5 million bottles produced;
• $125 million in annual economic activity;
• more than 3,000 jobs;
• 2% of wine bottles sold annually;
• a complete value chain, from production to sale, right here in Quebec;
