On September 12, I Buy a Quebec Wine!

Could the number 12 make this a special year? Let’s hope it helps amplify the message of love and support for our local wine industry on this themed day.

Together, the Conseil des vins du Québec (CVQ) and the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) invite Quebecers to take part in the event by purchasing a local wine at any point of sale across the province. This wave of recognition will no doubt give producers an extra boost as they head into the harvest season just around the corner. To further amplify the movement, throughout the weekend—from September 12 to 14—the SAQ will offer bonus points on the purchase of each Origine Québec wine sold.

“This themed day highlights the work and passion of our winegrowers. September 12 is a very special occasion to show them our appreciation and raise a glass to the health of our artisans,” added Sandrine Bourlet, Vice-President of Commercialization at the SAQ.

This initiative, launched in 2014 by a couple from Granby, unfolds right in the heart of harvest season, a time when winegrowers reap the fruit of several months of colossal work. Not so long ago, the first pioneers who dedicated themselves to grape growing in Quebec were considered great dreamers… Today, Quebec’s wine industry is solidifying and expanding on our territory: the number of bottles produced, winegrowers, grape varieties, and vineyard acres continues to rise year after year.
