Les Vignes des Bacchantes | Hemmingford
Sébastien Daoust is the owner of LES VIGNES DES BACCHANTES, a winery located in Hemmingford in the Eastern Townships.
In September 2017, in the middle of harvest season, Sébastien found himself with a life-changing decision to make. Having just lost his father, he chose to set aside his career as a business analysis executive and dedicate himself exclusively to winemaking. In so doing, he traded his office cubicle and his three-piece suits for the tanks, tractors and fields of the family vineyard.
The grapes grown on his 10-hectare estate include Marquette, Pinot Noir, Seyval Blanc and Pinot Gris. A full half of his grapes are earmarked for the tanks of fellow Quebec winemakers.
Still an analyst at heart, Sébastien is always assessing, measuring, documenting and optimizing. He thoroughly enjoys managing his PGI – Quebec Wine status and, every once in a while, he even gets to dust off one of his suits! His goal is to ensure that every customer who takes home one of his wines leaves with a product that meets his high standards.
Sébastien’s mission as a vintner is simple: to think of everything, so you don’t have to.
