The quebec wine growers ally with the lobster fishermen of south gaspésie for a gastronomic and local dinner

Montreal, May 12, 2020. As Quebec is encouraging a more concerted approach to Buy local, the producers-winegrowers of the Conseil des vins du Québec (CVQ) are joining forces with the 149 captains fishermen of the Regroupement des pêcheurs professionnels du sud de la Gaspésie (Press Release – CVQ partner) to offer a local gourmet meal consisting of Gaspé lobsters and local wines. “The fishermen and the wine-growers are all passionate and will seek to bring you the best of our rich terroir,” said Louis Denault, president of the Conseil des vins du Québec.

The CVQ regroups more than 80 members united by a strong passion for grapes and for wine production.

Since 2018, IGP certification (Indication Géographique Protégée) Vin du Québec for Quebec wines guarantees product traceability at all stages of production. Grape-growing, vinification and aging, bottling, chemical analysis and organoleptic evaluation assure Quebec consumers that the standards in force and best practices have been rigorously respected in order to offer wines that meet the highest standards.

« Traceability and strict production standards are qualities that our producers share with the lobster fishermen of Gaspésie,” says Louis Denault, “and this new partnership seemed completely natural to us in order to offer a new gastronomic experience, a great discovery for Quebecers in this very special period. »

Depending on your preference of wine pairing with lobster, Quebec producers offer whites, rosés, reds and sparkling wines that will redefine Quebec gastronomic experience.

The Conseil des vins du Québec offers different options to complement the Gaspé lobster, but several others are also presented on the websites of our local wine producers. Do not hesitate to get in touch with them as they can share the perfect wine pairing according to your specific recipe and deliver their products directly to your home.
