Vignoble Sugar Hill :

Sugar Hill Vineyard: Patience is Golden

On the six hectares of Sugar Hill in Lac-Brome, beautiful things are happening. Owners Alicia Pelechacz and Yvan St-Hilaire have chosen to do things differently and to wait. Wait for what? For the full potential of their wines to be reached before offering them to local wine enthusiasts. They thus age their cuvées for several years to study and enhance them. They were willing to wait over 10 years before introducing their Exceptional Cuvée, a natural brut aged for 125 months on lees in the bottle during its secondary fermentation.

Although they acquired the vineyard in 2006, the winemakers only presented their first bottles to the public in 2019. With this patient approach, they aim to demonstrate the full potential of hybrid grape varieties, which dominate the estate. Vidal, Marquette, Saint-Pépin, Seyval, Radisson, Petite Perle, and others are cultivated under organic management, and the wines have been certified organic since 2021. Tastings, tours, and purchases are available at the vineyard during the beautiful season.
