Famille Migneron de Charlevoix : Capitalizing on their Region
Known for their cheeses for a long time, and in recent years, rediscovered for their wines. Cheese and wine, that’s the perfect duo! The three artisans behind these fine products are Madeleine and Alexandre Dufour, who took over the family farm, along with Philippe Juneau.
On the two hectares of vineyards they cultivate in Baie-Saint-Paul, under organic management, the co-vintners innovate. In this region with a colder climate and a shorter growing season than in southern Quebec, they make their mark with early and robust North American hybrid grape varieties such as Radisson, Muscat Oscéola, Sainte-Croix, or Marquette.
It was in 2009 that Maurice Dufour, the father of Madeleine and Alexandre, planted the first 10,000 vines on his land. Thirteen years later, 5,000 vines were added to enable the production of white and rosé wines (even dark rosés!) and bubbles of various colors, all done in the most natural way possible, to truly taste the Charlevoix terroir !
