Domaine Girouard: homestay

It is on a magnificent land of 130 acres, located at the entrance of the village of Sutton, that Martin Girouard and Josée Tremblay settled with their two sons in 2017, in order to build a family project.

Wine lovers, this project took the form of a vineyard. The couple relied mainly on vitis vinifera, European grape varieties, which they age in particular in amphora or oak barrels. Alongside Pinot Noir and Gris, Chardonnay and Cabernet franc there are some hybrids such as Frontenac, Marquette and Seyval Blanc. Some more fragile grape varieties are even tested in the field, such as nebbiolo, an Italian grape variety that looks promising in the field.

Having themselves a son with special needs, Martin and Josée decided from the outset to integrate people living with a physical or mental disability into the vineyard team. Thanks to the collaboration of the organization Pleins Rayons, they welcome every week a brigade of young people who give a much appreciated helping hand.
