Domaine du Ridge : A little higher, a little further

In 1996, lawyer Denis Paradis planted 2000 vines on his land in Saint-Armand in the Eastern Townships. Today, his daughter Marie-Florence Crevier-Paradis and Julien Lavallée, a long-time employee who is also a lawyer, take over the reins of one of the largest vineyards in Quebec. Over the 68 hectares of the estate, more than 300,000 vines are planted, including hybrid grape varieties such as Seyval Blanc and Noir, Vidal, and Maréchal Foch. The young successors, supported by their numerous employees, have initiated an organic transition on 40% of the vineyard’s crops and also aim to reduce intervention in the winery. Always with the mission of keeping Quebec wine affordable, the products are available in grocery stores, at the SAQ (Société des alcools du Québec), and at the vineyard. One of the favorite vineyards on the Brome-Missisquoi Wine Route, Domaine du Ridge welcomes nearly 30,000 visitors annually and offers a multitude of activities for local wine enthusiasts.
