Vignoble D’Ovila : Driven by a taste for adventure and a deep attachment to the land
Ovila Vineyard was born from a deep connection to the land and a rich family heritage passed down through generations. Located on ancestral land acquired in 1939 by Ovila and Clara Robillard, the estate reflects a long-standing agricultural tradition, first rooted in dairy farming and later in cattle raising under the care of their son, Jean-Paul.
True to this legacy, the vineyard as we know it today took shape in 2014, when France and François Robillard fulfilled their dream of planting vines. With the help of family and friends, they established the first vines and gradually developed the vineyard, which now includes nearly 9,500 plants across several grape varieties. Driven by a desire to bring people together, they also enhanced the on-site experience by introducing a warm and inviting gourmet offering.
In 2022, a new chapter began with the arrival of the new owners, the Hirtle-Kattou family. With a background in organic farming and roots in both Quebec and Cyprus, this passionate family brings renewed energy to the vineyard. Drawing on a strong connection to agriculture and terroir—particularly through Spyros Kattou’s experience growing up in a vineyard—the project continues today with a forward-looking vision focused on innovation and environmental stewardship.
Today, Ovila Vineyard produces quality wines that showcase the richness of its terroir, while pursuing a clear mission: to cultivate the land with care, bring people together, and offer an authentic experience in the heart of Quebec’s landscape.
