Vignoble Lano d’Or: From Sommelier to Winemaker

“Lano” stands for Lanoraie, the town in Lanaudière where the Lano d’Or vineyard is planted. This vineyard is the dream of Bruno Méril, a French sommelier who moved to Quebec in 2013. Holder of the prestigious title Meilleur Ouvrier de France in sommellerie, and with more than 25 years of experience in the wine world, he acquired the vineyard in 2020 together with his wife Carine and two partners.

His “signature” wines, each associated with one of his four daughters—Ema, Margo, Lou, and Naomi—reflect their personalities and are crafted from hybrid grape varieties such as Frontenac, Louise Swenson, St. Pepin, Petite Perle, and Marquette. Bruno Méril’s deep expertise in wine also allows him to offer an artisanal vermouth and four fortified wines.

Located on the banks of the St. Lawrence River, the estate is a sought-after venue for private events such as weddings and corporate gatherings. A private chef creates personalized menus highlighting products from the farm or nearby producers—always paired, of course, with the wines of Lano d’Or!
